Fact: You Need Weights for Weight Loss, Especially If You're a Woman
[Estimated reading time: 2 minutes, 42 seconds.]
A hearty welcome to Go Long’s new subscribers this week. I am grateful for all of your support. Your feedback and contributions help shape a better experience for all.
Go Long is about getting real about the myths sold to the public about aging. This includes talking candidly about how you can age in a way that allows you to enjoy all of the things you have worked so hard for. We’re talking about how:
You’re moving today and how you want to move for years to come
You can reduce inflammation, which can cause certain diseases
You can choose to have more agency in choosing to believe the best years of your life are ahead of you

Go Long’s Beck The Halls Offer
Remember: Paying members of the Substack get to ask questions as guests are announced for the “anti-podcast” podcast. Go Long currently has a holiday special going on:
30% off of the annual subscription price of $70, which comes to $49 per year!
Go Long is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
Why do you want to be a paid subscriber?
Full archive of posts and podcasts (effective 2024, I’m going to put certain posts and podcasts behind the paywall)
Opportunity to submit questions in advance for special guests coming on the “anti-podcast” podcast (your name will be kept confidential)
Suggest areas of expertise you would like to learn more about for the blog and the podcast
One 30-minute wellness consulting session to use through January 31, 2024, which will help you with realistic goal setting for the year
By the way, you becoming a paid subscriber allows me more time to go deep on topics that matter to you, such as producing the podcasts and writing about all of the bullshit that goes with perimenopause!
I’ll still be producing free content, but the more in-depth posts covering physical, mental and financial wellness will be behind the paywall. More to come on this in ‘24. Hit me up if you have questions.
Happy Chanukah!
Yes, this is a legit card found by the hubs. It was made by Offensive & Delightful. Highly recommend!
A very Happy Chanukah to those who celebrate! It’s certainly a bit more meaningful this year with what is going on with the Jewish community here in Seattle and elsewhere.
BTW if you’re looking for a great website that explains Jewish traditions to people who do not identify as Jewish, I recommend jewfaq.org. Not only is the name catchy, but it covers the basics in an approachable way.
